SCA Convention Set for Thursday, May 27
Plans are being finalized for the 71st Annual Sandhills Cattle Association Convention and Trade Show in Broken Bow, Ne. The event is scheduled for Thursday, May 27. The planning committee has been working hard to put together the program. The speakers will discuss a variety of topics including: climate change, cap and trade and what it means to cattle producers; verification and marketing options for beef producers, as well as a humorous look at those of us in agriculture. We will also be electing officers and directors for the 2010-11 year, as well as awarding the SCA scholarships for the 2010-2011 school year.

This year we are going to make a change in the golf tournament, that has traditionally been held the day before the convention. Since we are in Broken Bow, the home of the One Box Gun Club,we thought it would be fun to combine skeet and trap shooting with the golf. In the morning the teams of four will shoot a round of skeet and a round of trap and in the afternoon, the same teams will play 9 holes of golf. We’ll offer prizes to winning teams in both shooting and golf and combine the scores to determine an overall winner.
We hope you will mark your calendar for Thursday, May 27 and make plans to participate in the annual meeting. We encourage pre-registrations so participants can get the lowest prices and we can plan for meals.
