Outreach Coordinator Opening

​The Sandhills Cattle Association is seeking a qualified candidate to fill an Outreach Coordinator opening. The Sandhills Cattle Association is a private, non-profit organization of ranchers in the Nebraska Sandhills and surrounding areas whose mission is to promote Sandhills cattle and resources through education, marketing, communications, and unique member services. This is a family-friendly, fast-paced work environment that requires working on multiple ongoing projects and deadlines based in Valentine, Nebraska. 

Job Description

This is a full-time (40 hours/week) position that requires someone who can remain organized in a fast-paced environment while working on multiple ongoing projects and deadlines. The Outreach Coordinator works under the Manager to serve the Board of Directors and the Sandhills Cattle Association’s members. This position offers competitive hourly pay, paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave.

Job Responsibilities

  • Correspond with the public, members, and staff.

  • Recommend appropriate plans to prospective members.

  • Scheduling and deadline management.

  • Update website and social media accounts.

  • Maintain membership records.

  • Order office supplies and maintains a clean office environment. 

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of educational programs and events. 

  • Assist in the creation, publication, and mailing of the Sandhills Cattle News, Feeder Cattle News & Member List Services. 

  • Occasionally attend trade shows.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Highly motivated, self-starter with strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workplace.  

  • Working knowledge of social media and website design.

  • Organization skills with attention to detail.

  • Professionalism and confidentiality. 


Experience and Educational Requirement

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Working knowledge of office organization, agriculture, and technology is highly desired.



  • Wage compensation is based on experience.
