Bring your best 1st calf heifers to town to compete for bragging rights for the Champion Pen of Three - Bred Heifers at the 81st Annual Sandhills Cattle Association Annual Convention at the Thomas County Fairgrounds in Thedford, Nebraska on September 22, 2020!

Prizes awarded to Champion & Reserve Champion Pens and People's Choice!

4-H & FFA students are welcome to judge the pens this year along with adults!

The pens will be judged on breed characteristics and uniformity, and against each other.

No clipping or blowing will be allowed. Animals are to be shown as they would appear in a pasture setting. 

Rules & Eligibility

Bred first-calf heifers of all breeds are eligible. Contest only available for cattle entered and owned by a current Sandhills Cattle Association Member! Cattle must be in place by 9:30 am on Tuesday, September 22, 2020. All pens will be identified by numbers during the contest. No ranch or ownership recognition is allowed at that time. After the final placings have been made, contestants are allowed to place appropriate recognition by their cattle. All cattle are shown loose, in their assigned pen, with no halter or fitting permitted.
